ABOUT
Hello, I am Ellie!
Let me start by saying thank you for being here.
I am a Potter from Herefordshire.
Creating timeless, elegant, functional pottery that is used in your everyday rituals, slowing down experiences.
I started making pots as a hobby alongside studying Graphic Design at University.
Recently, I have been hosting workshops, classes and attending markets, but I have recently decided to take the next step and launch my website.
Let me guide you through the art of my pottery process…
Each piece is handmade from stoneware, utilising both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques. After a couple of days, the forms are leather hard and then turned back at the wheel and then decorated in slips and underglazes. After they are left to dry for around 10-14 days, and then initially fired to 1000 degrees, which takes around 2 days.
After the forms are glazed, they are then fired again to approximately 1240 degrees, a process that takes around four weeks to achieve the finished result.
Each piece is made with great care and with the hopes of you slowing down experiences in your busy lives and enjoying the small moments. I love to see the pieces in your daily rituals, so don’t forget to take photos and tag me on Instagram @ellie.shepherdpottery
If you want to create something extra special?
Work with me to create a customised pottery piece or a clay experience.
Either slide into my DMs or fill out a form on my website, and I will be in touch.
